About Us
The Asfaw Family Foundation International (AFFI) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization developed by Geta and Janice Asfaw in 2006. Since the early 1980’s, Geta and Janice have operated their family business in the Denver Metropolitan area as owner/operators of McDonald’s restaurants. Throughout the years they have supported a number of community groups and organizations. To date, the family has served thousands of individuals.
The Asfaw Family Foundation International is a vehicle for the Asfaws to fulfill their commitment of giving back to the community and most particularly children and senior citizens. The longstanding Thanksgiving Senior Dinner serves hundreds of Denver senior citizens annually.
AFFI has also funded a school in Ethiopia focusing on the education of girls. Their goal in this effort was to foster education on a global level.
The programs established and supported by the AFFI to date are:
- Annual Senior Citizen Thanksgiving Dinner
- Arches of Hope Bicycle Give-A-Way
- Aim High Scholarship Program
- International Educational Grant
The Asfaw Family Foundation International will remain committed to serving senior citizens, families and children in Colorado, the United States, and abroad.
